You scream and you holla 'bout my Chevy Impala
holyshitballs

This is the best vid I've watched in a long time. I love what you do in your House vid and this one is brillant.
It's been a while since I've watched that season, but the vid brings it all back

My favorite part was everything. Seriously. The build, the music matches, cute movements. The progression is interesting too. You included a lot and left a lot out. What you left out is just as important as what you put in. The you weave storylines together is stellar too. The editing and look of the vid is BANANAS.

I'm going to roll it around in my head and watch it a bunch more times because I know there's things you have buried in it.

Possibly for my own viding purposes, What episode is the crazy coloring clip of Taub at 1:02 in?

Best. Feedback. Evar. Your fb rocks me like crazy.

It's awesome to see your love for the flow of it. That's such a challenge with House because of the ensemble nature plus how static (much of) the show is. I had to really limit myself on clip choices because the song demanded dynamic, you know? And dynamic wasn't always there in source.

The crazy coloring clip of Taub was from the ep with the patient who freaks out and starts imagining that all of the doctors are out to get her - the fighter pilot, I believe? There were similar shots of three other doctors.

Now let me get back to seeing if I can make a better vid... in like a week. :P

omg, WOW!

i haven't watched house in forever, but this was just awesome! terrifyingly so. everything from 1:53 on was just - perfect. how you worked with the song & how you always include these weird, illness/vision/idek-know-what-they-are shots & the patients themselves. it's more than gorgeous; i absolutely adored it :D

Thank you so much! So flattering to read your reaction, period, and it's also such a great feeling when a vid can come across that well - purely as a vid - to someone who isn't a devout follower of the show. I try very hard to create vids that can appeal on multiple levels, and your reaction is wonderfully reassuring on that front. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me. :)

Wow, man, this vid is insane. I was really taken by how seamless and smooth your editing is, as always. Your vids make me feel like mine are a jerky ride on those old wooden roller coasters while this is the ride I want to be on. :-) Stunning work here, man. That train window crash in particular was absolutely perfect.

Hey, thanks man! You are seriously The Master Of All Pacing And Motion so any kind of compliment from you on that front is like flattering X infinity. (Wooden rollercoaster?? Lulz.) *bows to your awesome*

Since I'm in the run-back-and-give-you-feedback-on-old-vids mood - another AMAZING House vid from you! House is normally a pretty straightforward show with some beautiful stylized moments, and I love the way you weave in these surreal elements. And how the patients-of-the-week are used to parallel the other characters - the editing with the bus crash and the rock-climbing cord lady and the wedding is just insanely awesome.

And the ending of this vid thrilled me!

How hard do you rock? You seriously made my day with both of these comments. :)

This is very flattering. And just cool. Thank you!

how the patients-of-the-week are used to parallel the other characters
The patients-of-the-week footage is usually so dynamic, and I'm such a sucker for parallels that I just can't resist with House. They're such a tempting way to explore the main characters' motivations. Just got a bit lucky with this season because the end of the Amber storyline had such dynamic and relevant footage on its own.

Ohhhhh, I really really like this one! :) I must admit it prompted a much stronger reaction in me than your LoTS vid, pretty though the other was... but Beasties will always get my attention and this is trippy coolness. Love your use of small body movements, expressions and gestures here--keeps things really kinetic and tense. And having Amber exploding forward on 1:53 was gorgeous! I am never going to be able to hear that beat again without seeing that ... DAMN YOU! ;)

I think this was a really nice match for the season--the superficial playfulness belying something darker and more deepset.

Love the ending of course--lovely link of music and source.

Yay, you watched it! And liked it! This one kind of sank in the wake of the Seeker vid and was quickly forgotten, so I'm really thrilled to see your reaction to it. :)

I had some serious reservations about whether or not the somewhat subtle internal motion in the earlier part of the vid would be strong enough to carry the song (which is *very* demanding), so it's reassuring to see that it worked for you in that way.

Thank you so much! My goal with all of the House vids has been to sort of plug into the overall feeling of the season, so it's wonderful to read this.

Ohh, yes, it's such a pity this got lost behind Seeker! (Your double awesome is clearly too much for mere mortal viewers! :p)

whether or not the somewhat subtle internal motion in the earlier part of the vid would be strong enough to carry the song (which is *very* demanding)
Yeah, I've tried to vid to Beasties (haha, yes, laugh at my naivety!) and it was indeed fraught with difficulty, so I can understand the anxiety, but I personally found the internal motion focus helped me really 'hook in' to the vid's nuances. Internal motion seems to be my 'thing' so I'm probably biased. For me, it also fit to keep a rap aspect--I guess I have a dancer's approach to such tracks--I like seeing the physical connection, and it seemed even more appropriate given the source deals with physicality, bodies and mortality. I think I would have been more distanced by bigger effects type work in this case. Of course you contrast it with some big trippy visuals from the source later on, and that brings in a sense of unreality very effectively.

This one will bear much rewatching for me, I think! :) Maybe you'll also find it has slowburn audience power!

Hi! Your House vids are absolutely awesome! This one and season 2's Vertigo are my favourites, but I like the other two as well. We have different views of the show and the character, and your vision of each season and its themes is so strong and so well transformed into the vids that it's like seeing the show I love with completely new eyes, broadening my understanding of it, which is just fantastic. I love how the songs, the choice of clips and the editing all lead to a distinctive feel for each season - the darkness of the third, the trippyness of the second, the easiness of the first, and the relentless energy of the fourth. Something that I've very rarely seen in House vids is your use of the patient/case clips to transport the ambience and themes, and man, how much do I love that, because it's often what the show itself does and it's so rarely reflected in fan works. And I just love the flow of the vids, you can jump in and be swept away without being thrown out by cuts at the wrong point. In short: YAY. :-)

PS: I've added you to my f-list to keep an eye on your work, I hope that's okay.

Wow.

It's pretty much a vidder's dream to read something like that. Seriously, thank you so so much.

Almost every time, my House vid ideas start when I see patients or medical case visual themes that seem to work as metaphors for the overarching plot or tone or themes of the season. I don't know if I would have ever made any of these vids if those things hadn't jumped out at me, or if they hadn't looked the way they did.

Thank you so much for watching them and leaving such a wonderfully thoughtful comment about them! It really means a lot.
